The VACON0020-3L-0003-4 is a low-voltage AC drive produced by Danfoss within the VACON 20 Low Voltage Drives series. Intended for integration in conveyor sections, pumps, and general machinery, the unit modulates power to three-phase induction motors so that speed and torque follow process demand without mechanical throttling. Its compact housing and parameter set are tailored for cabinet mounting in distributed automation where space is limited and fast setup is required. By converting a fixed mains frequency into a variable output frequency, it helps reduce energy consumption and mechanical wear.
The drive supplies a continuous output current of 2.4 A, which the inverter can deliver without derating. When connected to three-phase mains, it draws a nominal input current of 3.2 A, allowing appropriate upstream protection to be selected. The input section is rated for a three-phase supply, eliminating the need for phase conversion in standard industrial panels. For branch-circuit protection, the drive uses a 6 A semiconductor fuse that coordinates with the converter’s internal bus capacitors. At the motor terminals, the unit provides a rated motor output of 0.75 kW, matching small IEC-frame induction motors often found in localized actuators.

Heat produced during operation is removed by an internal fan that moves 10 m³/h of cooling air through the 98 mm deep housing. Required airflow clearances are 50 mm below, 100 mm above, and 20 mm on each side. Power enters through a 3 × 1.5 mm² copper mains cable with a protective earth conductor, and the same conductor size is recommended for the motor leads connected to the field wiring terminal.
