Product Description:
The VACON0020-3L-0002-2+EMC2+QPES is an AC variable-frequency drive produced by Danfoss for the VACON 20 Low Voltage Drives series. In automated plants, the unit regulates induction motor speed so conveyors, mixers, and auxiliary pumps can follow process commands rather than run at a fixed line frequency. This variable-speed operation improves energy use and provides greater control over machine cycles.
The drive delivers 0.37 kW of shaft power and supplies the motor with a continuous line current of 2.4 A. Output frequency can be set as high as 320 Hz, and adjustments are made in 0.01-hertz steps, allowing a target speed to be trimmed with a resolution of 0.01 Hz. During short acceleration periods, the inverter tolerates an overload current of 3.6 A before current limiting begins. Analog speed-reference inputs have an impedance of 250 kΩ, while the digital control terminals have an impedance of 10 kΩ, minimizing the electrical load on connected PLC input and output circuits. The internal electronics dissipate heat through forced airflow of 10 m³/h, and the enclosure corresponds to mechanical size MI1. The recommended conductor arrangement is 3 × 1.5 + 1.5 mm² for both the supply and motor cables. A 6 A upstream fuse provides circuit protection for the recommended wiring.
The supply side draws a nominal current of 3.5 A, which supports the selection of suitable contactors and thermal relays. Conducted emissions meet the C2 category because the model includes an integrated filter stage. The drive weighs 0.55 kg, allowing it to mount on lightweight panels without additional structural support. Motor leads may extend up to 30 m before reflected-wave voltage becomes excessive, allowing the drive to serve remotely mounted motors in compact machinery. Its narrow enclosure supports side-by-side placement when the required installation clearances are maintained. Adequate cabinet ventilation must also be provided so heat can leave the surrounding panel space during continuous operation.
