Product Description:
The VACON0020-3L-0001-2-R02 is a compact low-voltage AC drive manufactured by Danfoss for the VACON 20 Low Voltage Drives series. It functions as a frequency inverter that modulates the output supplied to small three-phase motors, allowing automation systems to fine-tune shaft speed and process throughput. In packaging lines, material feeders, or auxiliary pump skids, the unit delivers consistent torque, conserves energy, and reduces start-stop stress on mechanical components.
The power section accepts three-phase line power and draws a nominal input current of 2.7 A. Upstream circuit protection is provided by a 6 A fuse. Under steady operation, the inverter provides a continuous output current of 1.7 A, while a 150% overload for short acceleration periods is limited to 2.6 A. The rated motor power of 0.25 kW indicates the maximum continuous motor load supported by the drive, and internal control algorithms maintain torque across the speed range. Output frequency can reach 320 Hz, providing ample capacity for high-speed motor applications. The MI1 frame size keeps the overall footprint small for installation in densely populated control panels.
For precise velocity adjustments, the control stage operates with a frequency resolution of 0.01 Hz. Command and feedback wiring is streamlined by the built-in fieldbus, which supports Modbus RTU communication through the internal RS-485 port. The drive provides six galvanically isolated discrete inputs for basic start, stop, and direction commands. Two analog inputs and one analog output accommodate process variables such as pressure or flow. The digital output supports 35 V at 50 mA, while the relay contacts can switch 250 VAC at 3 A for motor contactors or alarms. These control connections allow the inverter to exchange operating commands and process signals with external automation equipment.
