Product Description:
The VACON0020-1L-0001-1-R02 is a compact AC variable-frequency drive produced by Danfoss within the VACON 20 Low Voltage Drives series. It is intended for small-horsepower conveyor sections, pumps, or fans where speed regulation is required to match process demand and reduce energy use. By modulating the output frequency delivered to an induction motor, the unit allows precise shaft-speed adjustment without mechanical throttling or gear changes. This electronic control method can accommodate changing operating conditions while avoiding the additional moving components associated with mechanical speed-control systems.
The drive operates from a single-phase supply at 115 V, so it can be connected to a compatible low-voltage power source without a transformer. The single-phase input is converted internally to a three-phase output that can energize motors rated up to 0.25 kW. Frequency can be adjusted in increments of 0.01 Hz, providing precise velocity control during setup or closed-loop operation. For integration with plant-wide controllers, an onboard RS-485 port supports Modbus communication, while six digital inputs and two analog inputs accept local switches, sensors, or reference signals. The drive has a nominal input current of 9.2 A and uses a 20 A time-delay fuse for circuit protection. Internal diagnostics monitor supply quality and operating conditions to reduce nuisance trips that could interrupt conveyor, pump, or fan operation.
The inverter’s output stage delivers a continuous load current of 1.7 A and can withstand transient peaks of up to 2.6 A during short acceleration periods. Motor leads may extend up to 30 m without exceeding the permitted rise-time limits, giving flexibility when the drive and motor cannot be installed near each other. The plastic housing weighs 0.7 kg and measures 195 mm high, 90 mm wide, and 102 mm deep, making it suitable for crowded enclosures. Its compact dimensions support DIN-rail or panel installation, while the low housing weight reduces the load placed on cabinet supports and mounting surfaces.
