Product Description:
The VACON0020-0007-2-R02 is an AC variable frequency drive produced by Danfoss for the VACON 20 Low Voltage Drives series. It converts fixed-frequency mains power into a regulated output that allows machine controllers to adjust induction motor speed in conveyors, pumps, and small material-handling stations. The integrated scalar control scheme supports adjustable motor operation within a compact MI2 frame that measures 90 mm wide, making the unit practical for crowded control panels.
The inverter supplies a continuous output of 1.5 kW at a rated phase current of 7 A. It can tolerate transient current demands of up to 10.5 A for 60 seconds without tripping. Motor speed modulation is available at frequencies up to 320 Hz, while a 0.01 Hz frequency resolution supports precise pump trimming and slow-speed jogging during machine setup. Two analog input channels accept either 0–10 V or 4–20 mA signals, six digital inputs receive start, stop, and preset commands, and two relay outputs transmit drive status to connected interlocks. The internal control board samples these channels while the front-end DC bus and IGBT stage operate in ambient temperatures up to 40 °C, reducing the need for additional cooling equipment.
A default carrier frequency of 4 kHz balances audible motor noise against switching losses during operation. Communication with PLCs is handled through a built-in RS-485 fieldbus port that supports Modbus RTU addressing. The housing has a height of 195 mm and a depth of 102 mm, allowing installation in shallow cabinets where internal clearance is limited. The drive weighs 0.7 kg, so DIN-rail or back-panel mounting adds minimal load to the enclosure. Its narrow housing also leaves room for nearby fuses, disconnects, and wiring ducts on the same mounting surface. The compact enclosure brings the power stage, control terminals, and communications connection together without requiring a separate interface module.
