Product Description:
The VACON0100-3L-0016-5-FLOW+SBF4+IP54+DPAP+DLDE is an AC drive engineered by Danfoss for the VACON 100 Industrial Drives series. In automation systems, it modulates the voltage and frequency applied to a squirrel-cage motor so that flow, pressure, or conveying speed can be matched to process demand instead of requiring the motor to run at a fixed line speed. By integrating standard control and protection features, the unit simplifies panel design for equipment builders that need adjustable motor power without additional external modules.
The drive’s continuous output capability is rated at 16 A, representing the maximum line current the inverter can supply under steady thermal conditions. During brief overloads, it can deliver up to 5.5 kW of shaft power at 400 V and tolerate a surge of 24 A for two seconds, providing headroom for acceleration or loads with high starting torque. A metal housing sealed to IP54 keeps dust and water spray away from internal electronics, allowing cabinet-free wall mounting in production areas. Two isolated analog inputs accept process references with an accuracy of ±1 %. One analog output is available for feedback to a PLC, and six digital inputs allow the controller to react to field devices such as pressure switches or float sensors.
For applications that demand higher mechanical output, the unit can operate a 400 V motor up to 7.5 kW or a 480 V motor up to 10 hp. The control board powers field sensors through a dedicated 24 VDC auxiliary supply, removing the need for an external power supply. Two programmable relays, each with a contact capacity of 250 VAC at 8 A, provide run, fault, or process alarms to higher-level equipment. A 4.7 kΩ thermistor trip input provides additional thermal protection. This input is energized by a 3.5 V reference and shuts down the drive if the motor windings exceed their thermal limit.
