The VACON0100-3L-0009-5-FLOW-R02+IP54 is an industrial variable-frequency drive developed by Danfoss for the VACON 100 Industrial Drives series. It converts fixed-frequency mains power into a regulated output so synchronous or induction motors in conveyors, pumps, and fan assemblies can be controlled from a single platform. The unit integrates into standard automation architectures and is intended for installation close to the motor in environments that require reliable electronic torque regulation.
The unit operates from a three-phase supply and can deliver a continuous motor current of 9.6 A while tolerating up to 16 A for two-second overloads during acceleration or braking. When supplied by a 400 V bus, the inverter supports motors rated up to 4 kW, making it suitable for small to midsize pump or conveyor applications. Six digital inputs and two analog inputs accept local start commands, speed references, and safety interlocks. A single analog output can retransmit process variables to a PLC. The housing has an IP54 protection rating, which limits dust ingress and protects the internal components against splashing water, allowing the drive to be mounted on machine frames without an additional sealed cabinet.
The controller provides Modbus TCP/IP, BACnet IP, PROFINET, and EtherNet/IP through its Ethernet port. Modbus RTU, BACnet MSTP, and Metasys N2 are available through the RS-485 terminal. An auxiliary supply of 24 VDC at 250 mA powers external sensors or relay coils, eliminating the need for a separate supply block. For motors rated at 480 V, the same unit supports output power up to 5 HP, allowing consistent cabinet layouts in regions that use higher supply voltages. The drive uses the MR4 frame and permits one mains reconnection per minute to protect the input bridge and DC-link capacitors.
