The VACON0100-3L-0005-5-HVAC+SBF4+IP54 is an AC variable frequency drive manufactured by Danfoss within the VACON 100 Industrial Drives series. It modulates three-phase mains power to regulate induction motor speed in heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning loops, as well as other automated material-handling cells. By varying output frequency and voltage, the unit matches motor torque to real-time process demand, improving energy efficiency and reducing mechanical wear on connected equipment.
This model supplies a continuous motor phase current of 5.6 A and can deliver up to 8.6 A for two-second overload events, providing short-term torque during starts or transients. At 400 V, the inverter supports 2.2 kW motors, while a 480 V supply permits 3 HP operation. Two analog inputs accept process variables such as pressure or temperature, and the drive includes 2 differential analog outputs that report operating status to supervisory PLCs. The unit has 6 digital inputs for run commands, interlocks, and preset selections. A 10 V reference source powers external potentiometers, and one analog input can monitor a thermistor; the drive trips when the sensor reaches 4.7 kΩ, protecting the motor from excessive winding temperature.
