The VACON0100-3L-0005-5-FLOW+IP54+FL03+QDSS+DPAP+DLNL is an AC variable-frequency drive manufactured by Danfoss within the VACON 100 Industrial Drives series. Designed for process automation, it controls motor speed by synthesizing a variable output waveform from a fixed three-phase supply. The included FLOW application simplifies pump and fan control by providing proportional-pressure and sleep functions that would otherwise require external logic. These functions support demand-based operation in applications where flow or pressure changes throughout the operating cycle.
The power section accepts a line voltage range of 380–500 VAC and operates over an input frequency range of 50–60 Hz. Under continuous duty, the inverter delivers an output current of 5.6 A. It can also withstand a surge current of 8.6 A for two seconds to start high-inertia loads. Motor voltage is synthesized from 0 V up to the incoming line voltage, providing motor control across the available speed range. The carrier frequency adjusts to support an output frequency range of 0–320 Hz. The control board maintains a power factor of at least 0.98, reducing reactive current demand on facility transformers. Thermal sensors linked to the drive’s overload model protect the insulated-gate bipolar transistors by reducing output or tripping the drive if permitted operating limits are exceeded.
At 400 V, the unit supports motors rated up to 2.2 kW. The same frame can operate a 3 HP motor when connected to a 480 V supply. Its short-term overload capacity is 110% for one minute every ten minutes, permitting brief torque increases without requiring a larger drive. The IP54 / Type 12 enclosure blocks dust and dripping liquids, allowing the unit to be mounted outside clean control rooms. A mass of 6 kg makes the drive manageable during wall or panel installation. Its 328 × 128 × 190 mm enclosure requires limited mounting space in compact process skids. Side-entry terminals provide direct access for routing power, motor, and control wiring within the installation area.
