Product Description:
The 131X6124 is an AC variable frequency drive produced by Danfoss for the FC 111 Flow Drives series. It converts fixed-frequency three-phase power into a modulated output that allows process controllers to adjust pump or fan speed according to flow, pressure, or level targets without relying on mechanical throttles. The unit is intended for municipal water plants, building HVAC loops, and general process lines where continuous speed control can improve energy use and reduce wear on valves, dampers, motors, and other connected components.
Rated at 30 kW, the drive can supply induction motors with substantial mechanical power while maintaining constant torque across the applicable speed range. It accepts a mains supply of 3 × 380–480 V AC, enabling direct connection to common low-voltage distribution systems. The chassis has IP20 protection with a back plate, so it must be installed inside a ventilated control enclosure that prevents contact with live components and limits exposure to debris. The back plate also provides a practical surface for mounting and grounding the unit within the cabinet. A reinforced coating applied as standard protects the printed circuit assemblies against condensation and fine dust that may be present in utility rooms or process areas. The drive includes no brake unit because dynamic stopping is generally unnecessary for centrifugal pumps and fans. It also has no auxiliary DC link connector, so the installation does not support an additional power input through that interface.
The faceplate is supplied with no local control panel, so parameters must be adjusted through a fieldbus connection or a compatible temporary handheld panel. Remote access allows operating values, speed references, and drive status information to be managed from the connected control system without adding a permanent keypad to the enclosure. The controller uses revision 111 for its control architecture. Automatic energy optimization adjusts the voltage-to-frequency profile in response to changing motor demand, helping reduce unnecessary electrical consumption during partial-load operation. This control function is particularly useful for pumps and fans that operate for extended periods below their maximum speed.
