Product Description:
The SQC2200U is an electronic counter and preset controller produced by Danaher in the Timers and Controllers series. It serves automation tasks that require real-time pulse accumulation, subtraction, and event triggering from sensors such as encoders, proximity switches, or photoelectric sensors. Installed through a 45 mm × 45 mm panel cutout, the self-contained module provides count monitoring, preset comparison, and status indication on its front face, supporting line-length measurement, machine-cycle control, and general sequencing duties on packaging, assembly, or material-handling equipment.
The counter accepts incoming edge signals at a maximum rate of 2.4 kHz, allowing direct connection to fast rotary encoders without missing pulses. It supports add/subtract and quadrature modes, so direction or length can be evaluated with one device. Process values appear on a transflective LCD whose primary line uses 7 mm characters across 6 display positions, ensuring legibility from typical viewing distances. A secondary line supports preset programming, and the controller holds 2 independent thresholds that can be assigned to separate outputs. These functions allow the instrument to manage cut-to-length processes, piece counting, or positioning tasks while keeping configuration accessible from the front panel.
Each programmed threshold can drive either an electromechanical or solid-state interface. The electromechanical path uses a Form C (SPDT) relay to switch mains-level loads with normally open or normally closed logic. When electrical isolation is not required, the built-in NPN open-collector stage supplies up to 100 mA and withstands 30 VDC, making it suitable for PLC inputs, solenoids, or lamp circuits. A bank of 14 LED indicators shows count direction, active outputs, and alarm conditions without requiring additional diagnostic hardware. The front-facing indicators allow operating states to be checked quickly while the counter remains installed in the panel.
