Product Description:
The MX190A6 is a programmable logic control module from Danaher as a part of the Micro 190 series. It is designed to operate on a 120 VAC input power source and housed in a plastic enclosure with a vertical mounting configuration for panel mounting. The controller possesses an overall dimension of 6.0 inches in height, 4.0 inches in width and 2.0 inches in depth.
The MX190A6 controller provides sixteen optically isolated digital inputs and eight discrete outputs for load control. Its output support both transistor/relay connectivity and the I/O are accessible through clearly marked terminal blocks. The unit’s input section accepts field signals within the specified AC or DC voltage ranges and it is equipped with a DB9 RS-232 serial port for programming as well as for diagnostics. Its programming is performed using eagle signal proprietary ladder logic software and its control programs are stored in nonvolatile memory to retain logic after power loss. This MX190 controller supports optional EEPROM/UVPROM memory modules for backup and a battery module can also be installed for extended memory retention. Its four front panel LEDs indicates power status, CPU operation, memory status and battery condition. The unit supports relay output modules with rating of 120 VAC at 2 A and its layout allows straightforward wiring to support quick modular replacement.
The MX190A6 controller’s analog input fall in the range of 0–10 V or 4–20 mA and its analog output support the same ranges. Its support expansion modules that include support for thermocouple of J and K type. This MX190 controller offers support for high-speed encoder and pulse train systems. It is UL listed and it provides dependable operations in machine control, process control and discrete automation.
Frequently Asked Questions about MX190A6:
Q: How does the RS-232 port enhance diagnostics on the MX190A6?
A: The RS-232 serial port on the MX190A6 allows direct connection to programming tools for real-time diagnostics. This simplifies troubleshooting by providing immediate status feedback and error logs.
Q: Why is opto-isolation important for the MX190A6 digital inputs?
A: Opto-isolation protects the controller from voltage spikes and electrical noise. For the MX190A6, this ensures reliable signal integrity and longer component life.
Q: How do EEPROM and UVPROM modules benefit the MX190A6 controller?
A: Adding EEPROM or UVPROM enables nonvolatile retention of control logic in the MX190A6. This ensures program memory remains intact even during total power loss.
Q: What advantage do the 0–10 V and 4–20 mA analog ranges offer on the MX190A6?
A: The dual analog input/output ranges give the MX190A6 flexibility for different sensor types. It supports both voltage-based and current-loop signals for broader compatibility.
Q: Why include four status LEDs on the MX190A6 controller?
A: The LED indicators for power, CPU, memory, and battery status provide at-a-glance system health. On the MX190A6, this aids quick diagnostics without needing external tools.
