It occupies a CYCL-FLEX socket and provides repeatable delay functions that let automation panels sequence motors, lamps, or relays without adding PLC code. In manufacturing cells or material-handling lines, the module starts or stops equipment after a preset interval, coordinating operations that must occur in a fixed order.
It switches an inductive or resistive branch rated at 10 A at 120/240 VAC, so the internal contacts may drive starters or solenoids directly. When used on fractional-horsepower machines, its motor output capacity is 0.33 HP at 125/250 VAC, preventing overload on small conveyors or pumps. Control power is fed through a separate input of 120 VAC, isolated from the load path to keep timing accuracy stable. The timing network is synchronized to a line frequency of 60 Hz, which eliminates drift from temperature-dependent RC oscillators. A front dial selects delays from zero up to 15 minutes, and the unit maintains the selected range after repeated cycles because the mechanism is cam-driven rather than electronic. Load terminals 4 and 3 are brought to the faceplate, while auxiliary DC circuits may be switched at 0.5 A on 125 V or 0.25 A on 250 V lines for indicator logic.
Input stability is safeguarded by a supply tolerance of +10%/-15%, allowing the timer to operate accurately during brownouts or minor overvoltage events. The mechanical pointer can be set with a repeatability of ±1%, giving consistent delays in batch processes. Internal magnetics and heaters draw a maximum of 4 VA, which reduces the required panel transformer capacity and limits heat generation inside the cabinet. For installation, the circular housing slides through a 3.187-inch panel opening and locks with two 8-32 screws. The electrically isolated pilot light provides visual status without introducing ground loops.
