The HQ902A6 timer is manufactured by Danaher as part of the Timers and Controllers series. This single-shot device inserts a controlled delay between an input change and the switching of its output contacts, enabling orderly startup, staggered motor engagement, or process dwell times inside automated machinery. The module fits standard relay sockets, allowing electrical timing functions to be added to legacy panels without using a programmable controller channel. Its socket-mounted format also allows the timer to be installed in control panels that use conventional relay-based sequencing.
The coil accepts a nominal supply of 120 VAC and continues to operate when the supply remains within a tolerance of +10%/-15%. Its internal circuitry operates at an industrial line frequency of 60 Hz, and its maximum power consumption is 4 VA, which limits the load placed on the control transformer. When the selected delay expires, the form-C output contacts can carry up to 10 A at 120/240 VAC, allowing the relay to operate contactors or pilot lamps directly. Field wiring connects to terminals 4 and 3, with the numbered positions corresponding to the terminal arrangement on a compatible octal base. The form-C contact arrangement provides both normally open and normally closed switching paths for use in different control sequences.
