Product Description:
The HP5E5A601 is a panel-mount industrial timer produced by Danaher within the Timers and Controllers series. The unit generates single-shot or interval delays so relays, heaters, and small motors can be energized for a precise period inside automated equipment. When connected to a 120 V control circuit, it advances an internal mechanism and then switches its output after the preset interval, supplying dependable time-based sequencing for conveyors, batching stations, and other repetitive processes.
The timer operates from a nominal supply of 120 VAC at 50/60 Hz, and its input tolerance of +10%/-15% keeps the circuit active during moderate mains variation. The control electronics draw just 1.5 W, minimizing heat inside the cabinet. A front dial that sweeps through a full circle sets delays up to 30 min, while an LED array provides a clear timing indicator. The output contacts are rated for 10 A at 120 VAC, allowing direct switching of resistive loads without auxiliary relays. The molded ABS housing provides insulation and mechanical strength while keeping the unit lightweight. The internal design maintains the stated power draw across the entire adjustment range.
Time initiation follows the reverse-start method, so the interval begins when control voltage is removed. The device does not reset automatically after a power interruption; a supply loss of 500 ms is required before a new cycle can start. It can drive fractional-horsepower loads up to 1/6 HP at 120 VAC, and the dial has a circumference of 5.20 in for easy manual adjustment. Fifteen screw terminals accommodate control power, neutral, and multiple contact sets. The contact materials support an electrical life of 5,000,000 cycles at 1 A and 250,000 cycles at full load. This durability supports repetitive timing duties in industrial control systems that operate for extended periods.
