The HP59A6 is a mechanical interval timer produced by Danaher within the Timers and Controllers series. Designed for panel mounting in process equipment, it drives an internal clutch and synchronous motor to index a front dial and switch heavy-duty contacts at user-selected intervals. In automation systems, the device establishes start, dwell, or purge periods for motors, heaters, or pumps without relying on electronic logic, providing predictable timing that is independent of ambient temperature or vibration.
It operates from a supply of 120 V at 60 Hz, and the output contacts are rated to carry 10 A at 120 VAC, so lighting circuits, solenoids, or motor starters can be switched directly. The timing motor consumes 2.45 VA, while the clutch requires 10.5 VA only during set-to-run engagement, resulting in modest heat generation inside control cabinets. A 7.85-inch dial marked in 10-minute increments allows quick visual adjustment. The scale can be set anywhere up to 10 hours, and the cam permits a minimum repeatable interval of 20 minutes.
