Product Description:
The HP55A6 industrial timer is manufactured by Danaher and supplied under the Timers and Controllers series. It functions as a stand-alone on-delay or off-delay module that energizes or de-energizes control circuits after a chosen interval, coordinating clutches, solenoids, or indicator lamps without requiring a PLC. A panel-mounted dial provides direct access to the setpoint, while the synchronous motor drive keeps the selected period stable across normal line-voltage fluctuations.
The upper limit of the selectable range is 30 min, while the minimum settable value is 1 min. Adjustments are made in increments of 0.5 min, allowing settings to be repeated quickly during operating changes. Contact output capacity reaches 10 A at 120 VAC, allowing the timer to switch small motors, heater contactors, or pilot relays directly. Internal timekeeping is synchronized to a mains frequency of 60 Hz, which sets the motor speed and helps maintain consistent timing. The timer has a pull-in time of 28 ms and a drop-out time of 17 ms. Its reset time between cycles is 0.5 seconds, making the unit suitable for rapid, repetitive operations within its continuous-duty rating.
The electrical burden on the control transformer includes a clutch coil draw of 10.5 VA and a motor requirement of 2.45 VA, allowing the connected power supply to be sized appropriately. Mechanical durability is rated for 250,000 operations, reflecting the expected operating life when the contacts remain within their stated current limit. For process repeatability, interval deviation remains within ±9 s across the full operating temperature span of -18 °C to +60 °C. The timer also accepts a maximum inrush current of 10 A. These operating capabilities support conveyor indexing, washer dwell periods, and other medium-duty automation tasks that require repeatable timing without centralized control.
