The HP54A6 is an electromechanical timer manufactured by Danaher and grouped within the Timers and Controllers series. It fits into relay logic panels and machine control cabinets where a repeatable time delay is needed to start, stop, or interlock devices such as solenoids, clutches, or heaters in automated processes. Its nonmetallic ABS housing provides electrical insulation and resists oils and ordinary contaminants commonly found around industrial machinery. The lightweight case also reduces the load placed on the surrounding panel structure.
This model operates from a nominal 120 VAC supply at 60 Hz, so it can be wired directly to standard North American control power without a transformer. When first energized, the coil can draw up to 10 A of inrush current. The isolated output contacts have a rating of 10 A resistive at 120 VAC, allowing the timer to switch compatible control and lamp loads without an interposing relay. Cycle-to-cycle deviation remains within ±0.3 sec, supporting repeatable sequencing in high-speed indexing equipment. Installation requires a round panel opening measuring 3.187 in, which helps the unit fit into densely arranged control stations.
