The HP52A6 is an electromechanical timing device built by Danaher within its Timers and Controllers series. Intended for panel-mounted sequencing or dwell control, the unit counts down a preset interval and then changes state, allowing conveyors, heaters, or index tables to run for controlled durations in automated equipment. Its round front dial requires a 3.187-inch panel cutout and has a calibrated circumference of 7.85 inches, allowing the time to be set without tools.
The timer operates on a supply of 120 VAC at the industry-standard frequency of 60 Hz, so it can be wired directly to common control transformers. The knob can be adjusted from a minimum of 0.5 seconds to a maximum of 15 seconds; this range establishes the allowable delay before the internal changeover contacts transfer. Each index mark on the dial represents a 0.25-second division. The clutch and motor burdens of 10.5 VA and 2.45 VA, respectively, indicate the power drawn while the mechanism is winding. Once energized, repeat cycles remain within ±0.08 seconds, providing consistent process timing.
