The HK510A6 hour meter is manufactured by Danaher within the Timers and Controllers series. It is intended for fixed-panel installation where accumulated run time must be displayed directly on the machine. The device converts mains energy into a mechanical count through a timing motor and geared wheels, allowing service intervals to be tracked without relying on software counters. A high-impact plastic case and a dust-proof dial cover protect the register so that vibration and airborne particles do not interfere with the indicator.
The register operates from a nominal 120 VAC source at an industrial frequency of 60 Hz. Its internal power consumption is a maximum of 3 W, so the meter places minimal demand on control transformers or auxiliary circuits. Once powered, the clockwork advances in increments of 0.1 hour across a full measurement span of 9999.9 hours. The accumulated value remains accurate as long as the supply frequency stays within the permitted tolerance. A front reset wheel allows the display to be returned to zero after routine service without opening the enclosure. The digit-wheel readout can be viewed from several feet away under normal lighting, making the elapsed-time value easy to check from the front of the equipment.
Panel installation requires a circular cutout measuring 2.375 inches, and the bezel clamps securely onto panels up to 0.500 inch thick without additional brackets. The display uses six counting drums to provide a clear numerical indication of accumulated operating time. The most significant wheel remains stationary until the register reaches the corresponding portion of its counting range, keeping the lower-order digits easy to read during normal operation. Drive accuracy is maintained by a synchronous timing motor whose constant speed follows the incoming line cycle.
