The HG102A6 is a cyclic timer built by Danaher for the Timers and Controllers series. Supplied in a plug-in case, the unit fits standard octal sockets and governs the on-and-off sequence of control circuits in conveyors, washers, or batch mixers that need repeatable time-based actuation. It operates from a 120 VAC, 60 Hz control line, allowing direct connection to common panel power without auxiliary transformers, while its synchronous, unidirectional motor maintains consistent timing under fluctuating line conditions.
The front dial can be set anywhere up to 150 seconds, and the cam stack holds the overlap between successive contacts to within 1.5% of the total cycle. Once a value is selected, cycle-to-cycle variation is held to 0.5% of the dial setting, so pneumatic valves or relays connected to the timer do not drift out of calibration over long production runs. Two independent outputs are available through two SPDT contacts, providing both normally open and normally closed paths for each event. Internal demand on the control supply is only 2.5 VA, which minimizes heat buildup inside densely packed enclosures and allows the timer to share low-capacity control transformers with other devices.
For power handling, each pole is rated at 10 A at 120 VAC, allowing it to switch small induction motors, contactor coils, or pilot lamps without auxiliary interposing relays. The mechanical drive train is rated for 10,000,000 operations, while electrical endurance at full load reaches 250,000 operations, providing ample service life in typical shift-based production schedules.
