Product Description:
The HG101A692 is a plug-in cyclic timer built by Danaher for the Timers and Controllers series. Housed in the HN388 explosion-proof enclosure and supplied in the CYCL-FLEX plug-in case style, it provides repeatable on-and-off sequencing for pneumatic valves, solenoid coils, or indicator circuits on automated machinery. By energizing its synchronous unidirectional motor, the unit advances internal cams that open or close external contacts according to the dial setting, providing compact control for repetitive process timing.
During operation, the timer accepts a control supply of 120 VAC at 60 Hz and draws only 2.5 VA, which places a light load on panel transformers. The synchronous unidirectional motor drives the cams continuously, producing a repeating on-and-off cycle that can switch outputs up to 10 A at 120 VAC through the contact block. The device has two SPDT output switches, providing fully isolated circuits for the simultaneous control of independent loads or feedback paths. Once the timer is set, variation between identical cycles remains within 0.5% of the dial setting. This timing accuracy supports applications that require closely matched intervals in batch production or indexing equipment.
In cycle mode, the dwell or overlap between the on and off segments has a maximum duration of one second, while the overall adjustable timing range extends up to 60 seconds. At the lower end, the dial has a minimum setting of 1 second, permitting rapid sequencing while retaining cam-driven timing accuracy. The mechanical drive train is rated for 10,000,000 operations, and the silver-alloy contacts have an electrical life of 250,000 operations when switching resistive loads. The explosion-proof housing protects the mechanism in hazardous areas, while the CYCL-FLEX plug-in base allows the timer to be disconnected without disturbing the permanent field wiring.
