Product Description:

The HA42A6A211J is a member of the timer and controller series built by Danaher, for adjustable delay control in automation systems. It has 3 SPDT relay contacts for switching and each of its contact is rated for 15 A, 120 V AC resistive. The timer’s contacts are cam-actuated and driven by the movement of an internal synchronous motor for precise cycle control.

The HA42A6A211J timer has a delay timing range that is adjustable from 0 to 120 seconds and it operates on 120 VAC ±10% at 60 Hz single-phase power. Its dual-scale micrometer dial enables fine timing adjustments and a solenoid clutch mechanism engages the timing cycle on activation. Its timing accuracy remains consistent regardless of the connected load and electrical reset occurs automatically when power is removed, no manual reset is required for reuse. The HA42 timer possess a cycle progress pointer moving with the ellipse of time, that is visible on the front dial. It comes with silver alloy material contacts to support long service life; it is suitable for controlling motors and heating loads up to 1/3 HP at 120 V AC. The HA42 timer is built with a heavy-duty metal enclosure and it weighs approximately 3 lbs.

The HA42A6A211J timer’s rear terminals provide screws with block connections and it mounts through a 4-inch circular panel cutout through its provided rear studs or an optional clamp ring. Its overall dimensions are approx. 6.5 x 5.5 x 4.5 inches and it is UL/CSA certified for control cabinet use. The HA42 timer is designed to perform well in dusty or damp conditions, within an ambient thermal range from 0 °C to 60 °C and an optional NEMA-4 splashproof housing is supported as well for protection.

Frequently Asked Questions about HA42A6A211J:

Q: Why does the HA42A6A211J timer use cam-actuated contacts instead of electronic switching?

A: Cam-actuated contacts provide consistent mechanical operation ideal for harsh industrial environments. They also enhance reliability in systems with high electrical noise or vibration.

Q: What is the purpose of the solenoid clutch in the HA42A6A211J?

A: The solenoid clutch ensures that the timing cycle only begins upon activation. This prevents unintended timing operations during power fluctuations.

Q: How does the dual-scale micrometer dial enhance timing accuracy?

A: It allows users to make both coarse and fine adjustments on the timing range. This ensures precise control within the 0 to 120-second window.

Q: How does the HA42A6A211J timer maintain accuracy under varying load conditions?

A: Its synchronous motor and cam mechanism are load-independent. This ensures timing consistency regardless of downstream device power requirements.

Q: What type of loads can the silver alloy contacts in the HA42A6A211J support?

A: Silver alloy offers low contact resistance and high wear resistance. This makes it ideal for inductive loads like motors and heating elements.
