Product Description:
The CX412A6 is a multifunction timer and counter manufactured by Danaher within the Timers and Controllers series. Intended for control panels and OEM machinery, the device totals production cycles, times process stages, and issues relay actions that synchronize downstream actuators in industrial automation. Its compact form and digital interface allow direct panel mounting where operators need an at-a-glance status display without external converters. The unit combines counting, timing, and switching functions in one panel-mounted device, reducing the number of separate control components required in a machine enclosure.
It provides a count accuracy of 100%, so every pulse accepted at the input is reflected on the display without numerical loss. The count input can be driven by logic or line-voltage sensors because it accepts 120 VAC/VDC signals. A 4½-digit LCD with digits measuring 0.5 in high shows totals up to 19999, and timing information can extend to 199 hr 59 min before the register rolls over. Once energized, the unit becomes responsive within 300 ms, and a front-panel reset clears counts within 30 ms. The internal oscillator maintains a repeat accuracy of ±0.1% or 35 ms when referenced to the 50/60 Hz supply. All conductors terminate on 15 screw terminals for secure panel wiring.
The switching section provides one 10 A DPDT output and two 5 A SPDT outputs, giving the controller three independent contact sets that can drive solenoids, lamps, or interlock coils directly. These contacts are actuated by a cam mechanism rated for more than 20 million operations, supporting machinery with frequent indexing cycles. When used as a timer, the smallest programmable interval is 0.001 s, and overall setting accuracy remains within ±0.1% or 50 ms across the available range. The device operates from a single-phase 120 VAC power source, eliminating the need for a separate auxiliary supply. Its multiple relay outputs allow different loads to be switched according to the programmed timing or counting sequence.
