Product Description:
The BRE8A601 is a time-delay relay controller produced by Danaher for the Timers and Controllers series. Designed for cabinet or panel integration, the unit provides an adjustable on-delay function that synchronizes actuators, contactors, and pilot devices in industrial automation. When power is applied, the reverse-start logic waits for an operator-selected interval before energizing the output relay, allowing downstream motors or solenoids to engage in a controlled order.
Line power enters through a single-phase supply of 120 VAC, 50/60 Hz, and the internal electronics draw only 1.5 W, so heat rise inside small enclosures is minimal. The isolated output relay is rated at 10 A for 120/240 VAC resistive loads, while its 1/4 HP rating allows the direct switching of compatible fractional-horsepower motors. For DC applications, the contacts can handle 0.5 A at 125 VDC and 0.25 A at 240 VDC. After the start command, the relay closes following an activation delay of 150 ms, ensuring repeatable contact transfer before the main timing cycle begins. Timing is adjusted with a graduated dial whose full-scale accuracy is 3% FS, supporting consistent interval settings across the dial face.
Once running, the device maintains cycle repeatability within ±0.25% FS, so successive operations deviate by only fractions of a second across the entire timing range. The selectable span extends from a minimum setting of 6 seconds to a maximum of 10 minutes, enabling both short sequencing intervals and extended delay control. A rapid reset interval of 1 ms clears the internal timing network as soon as power is removed, allowing immediate retriggering without residual lag. Nine numbered terminal positions accept conductors up to 16 AWG for line, neutral, control, and relay wiring. In reverse-start mode, the output remains de-energized until the programmed interval has elapsed.
