The BRE7A601 is a Danaher time-delay relay supplied under the Timers and Controllers series. Designed for surface-mounted panels, the module inserts a controlled pause between an input command and the energizing of downstream loads, allowing orderly motor sequencing and reduced inrush current in industrial automation lines. Its function is limited to a single timing mode, making integration straightforward when a discrete delay element is needed to coordinate pumps, heaters, or conveyor sections without adding PLC logic.
The unit operates from a control supply of 120 VAC at 50/60 Hz. Its output contacts are rated for 10 A at 120/240 VAC, while separate DC limits of 0.5 A at 125 VDC and 0.25 A at 240 VDC protect smaller logic circuits. The coil and control electronics draw only 1.5 W, which minimizes the heat added to the cabinet. The maximum adjustable interval is 60 seconds, and a front dial permits adjustment from a minimum span equal to 2 percent of the full scale. External connections are made through a nine-point screw terminal block that accepts 16 AWG conductors. The surface-mount housing fastens directly to the panel backplate without DIN rail hardware, providing a secure installation in conventional control cabinets.
A reverse-start configuration keeps the output open until power is applied and then begins the timing cycle. The relay has an activation delay of 150 ms from power-up to the start of timing, which provides predictable operation after the control supply is energized. Its reset recovery time is 1 ms after the supply is removed, enabling rapid retriggering in machinery with frequent operating cycles. Long-term process precision is supported by repeatability of ±0.25 percent of full scale and initial setting accuracy of 3 percent of full scale.
