Product Description:
The BRE7A6 timer is built by Danaher for the Timers and Controllers series and is intended to introduce controlled delays in automated machinery. By energizing or de-energizing downstream loads only after its set interval has elapsed, the device coordinates sequential operations on conveyors, packaging stations, and process skids, reducing wiring complexity compared with PLC-programmed delays. Surface mounting simplifies installation in existing control panels, while the compact enclosure leaves room for nearby relays and wiring channels.
The unit operates from a single-phase input of 120 VAC, so it connects directly to common control transformers powered by plant mains. Its internal circuitry draws only 1.5 W, minimizing heat inside the panel during continuous operation. The adjustable timing range has a maximum interval of 10 minutes and a minimum interval of 6 seconds. The front-facing dial is segmented in 30-second divisions for coarse adjustment, while a finer inner scale supports more precise settings. The design operates with either 50 or 60 Hz utility power, and the quartz reference maintains timing across the 50/60 Hz frequency range. Conductors terminate on a nine-point screw terminal block that accepts 16 AWG wire, allowing secure field connections without a separate socket. An injection-molded Lexan case insulates live parts and protects the adjustment dial from accidental impact.
The output contacts are rated for 10 A and 1/4 hp at 120 or 240 VAC, allowing direct switching of small motors or resistive heaters. After a control signal appears, the relay closes within 150 ms, supporting machine sequences that require a short response time before the programmed delay begins. Once power is removed, the relay clears within 1 ms, limiting overlap between successive operating stages. Output repeatability remains within ±1/4% of full scale, helping the timer produce consistent delays across repeated machine cycles. Initial calibration accuracy remains within 3% of full scale throughout the dial range, supporting predictable interval selection for conveyor transfers, packaging functions, and process-control sequences.
