Product Description:
The BR15A6 is an industrial on-delay timer produced by Danaher within the Timers and Controllers series. Installed in relay logic panels, it introduces a controlled pause between the arrival of a control signal and the energizing of downstream devices, allowing conveyor sections, heaters, or pneumatic valves to start in a fixed sequence. The compact module combines a dial-adjustable range with panel screw terminals so hardwired machinery can obtain repeatable timing functions without a programmable controller.
Incoming control power is accepted at 120 V (+10%, -15%), 50/60 Hz, matching common single-phase utility feeders. The front dial spans up to 60 seconds and can be reduced to 0.6 seconds; graduations of 2 seconds make intermediate settings straightforward. Once set, the timing network maintains an accuracy of 3% of full scale over the stated voltage tolerance and typical enclosure temperatures. A Lexan case shields the scale, and the relay energizes after a 150 ms activation delay. Repeatability of ±0.25% of span keeps cycle-to-cycle deviation small, which is important when identical delays must be reproduced on multiple production lines.
The isolated output relay carries up to 10 A, 1/4 HP, at 120/240 VAC, so the timer can switch small motors, lamps, or solenoids directly. For direct-current loads, the unit supports 0.5 A at 125 V DC and 0.25 A at 240 V DC through separate contacts. Internal circuitry draws only 1.5 W, adding negligible heat to closed panels. A 1 ms reset time allows the relay to rearm almost instantly once the supply voltage is removed, enabling rapid fault clearing or repeated short-cycle operation. Nine screw terminals accept 16 AWG conductors for supply, load, and initiate connections. The Lexan enclosure withstands oils and cleaning agents typically found in automated factory environments.
