Product Description:
The B506-7001 timer is produced by Danaher as part of its Timers and Controllers series. Designed for DIN-sized control panels, the device functions as a digital timing element that alternates preset on and off intervals to coordinate actuators, solenoids, or motor starters in automated machinery. When installed behind a machine’s front panel, it receives logic-level start commands and drives its relay outputs at a predictable cadence. This operation allows the control system to pace material indexers, batch conveyors, and other processes that require unattended cyclic sequencing.
Field wiring terminates on an 11-pin plug-in socket, providing a removable connection between the module and the hardwired harness. The universal input section accepts step-down mains power in the range of 85–264 VAC at 50/60 Hz while drawing less than 10 VA. Once energized, an internal crystal maintains timing accuracy within 0.01%, limiting drift caused by temperature and supply variations. Command transitions are recognized after the 21 ms activation filter, and the timer closes an output contact only 15 ms after the cycle boundary. Load switching is handled by two SPDT relays rated at 5 A, providing sufficient capacity for contactor coils or pilot valves in light-duty circuits.
Operational feedback appears on a dual-line, four-digit, seven-segment LED display with 8 mm characters that simultaneously shows the present count and programmed setpoint. The keypad and screen sit behind a silicone gasket that gives the faceplate an IP65 rating, allowing washdown cleaning without moisture entering through the front of the panel. The timer operates in Repeat Cycle mode, automatically restarting at the end of each interval without requiring an external reset. Relay endurance reaches 100,000 cycles under the applicable load conditions. Nonvolatile EEPROM retains entered parameter data during power interruptions, allowing operation to resume with the stored timing values after power returns.
