Product Description:
The B506-5001 is a panel-mount digital timer manufactured by Danaher within its Timers and Controllers series. Designed for sequence control, dwell timing, and cyclic counting tasks, the unit accepts relay or sensor signals and issues delayed double-pole outputs that coordinate actuators, solenoids, or small motors in automated machines. By handling on-delay or off-delay functions directly in the cabinet, it removes overhead from the main PLC and maintains consistent cycle timing across conveyors, packaging stations, or test stands.
The timer has an activation delay of 21 ms, so the contacts change state quickly once the preset time expires. Repeatability is maintained within ±0.01%, which minimizes drift during long production runs. The timer’s input circuit presents an impedance of 10 kΩ, permitting direct connection to transistor or relay drivers without loading the source. A timed DPDT relay rated at 5 A switches AC or DC loads. The dual-line, seven-segment LED shows four digits with a character height of 8 mm, providing clear status visibility from the front of a control panel. Nonvolatile memory preserves the set value after power loss, and additional parameters can be adjusted through the keypad without external tools.
The housing measures 48 × 48 × 85 mm, fits a 45 × 45 mm panel cutout, and locks into place with the supplied clips. The front membrane has an IEC IP65 protection rating, guarding the electronics against dust and washdown splashes. Overall power draw remains below 10 VA, and the control electronics accept a supply of 90 to 240 VAC at 50/60 Hz without selector links. Field wiring terminates on an 11-pin plug-in socket, simplifying connection within the cabinet. The enclosure weighs only 100 g, which reduces the load placed on light-gauge cabinet panels and doors.
