Product Description:
The B506-2052 is an electronic timer and counter module produced by Danaher as part of its Timers and Controllers series. Housed in a 48 × 48 × 85 mm package, the unit mounts in compact control panels and provides sequential timing or event counting for automated equipment. It fits directly into low-voltage logic circuits, allowing machine builders to add accurate delays, pulse generation, or cycle totals without programming a PLC. The back-of-panel depth leaves space for wiring while accommodating crowded enclosure layouts.
The device accepts a control power source of 24 VAC/VDC, and its 4 ms activation time indicates the interval between recognizing an input edge and energizing its output. A timing resolution of 1 ms permits finely stepped presets, which are useful for high-speed indexing stations. The signal input presents an impedance of 10 kΩ and works with NPN or dry-contact closures, so proximity switches or relay contacts can drive the unit directly. Output switching is handled by an NPN open collector rated for 30 VDC and a maximum of 30 mA, providing a transistor-based output for PLC feedback lines. Programmed cycles appear on the dual-line, four-digit, seven-segment LED display, whose characters are 8 mm high for clear viewing across the machine. All terminations connect to an 11-pin plug-in socket, simplifying wiring and module removal.
The front membrane carries an IEC IP65 rating, blocking dust ingress and low-pressure water jets when the unit is secured inside a 45 × 45 mm cutout. The average internal load is limited to 200 mA at 24 VDC, which keeps temperatures stable so the electronics can operate reliably from 0 °C to 55 °C. Long-term storage is permitted from −40 °C to 90 °C, allowing spare units to be kept in unconditioned warehouses without damage. The dual-line LED arrangement separates real-time counts from setpoints for easier monitoring and adjustment.
