Product Description:

The 797586-210 is a programmable controller from Danaher that operates on both 115/230 VAC at 50/60 Hz frequency and consumes 20 W of power during operation. It accepts inputs as NPN open-collector as well as dry contact signals and its counting modes include up, down, bidirectional and quadrature decoding.

The 797586-210 controller provides two SPDT relay outputs rated 5A at 230 VAC and its outputs are assignable by count direction along with preset logic. Its output behavior supports latched, momentary and timed pulse functions. Each of its counter input includes programmable debounce and filtering. The controller input support reset, inhibit and security lockout functions while its scale factor ranges from 0.0001 to 9.9999. It supports X1, X2 and X4 quadrature encoder inputs. This 7975 controller’s register A and B are independent high-speed counters while a third display register C is available for rate and math functions. All the registers are accessible via dedicated front panel buttons and the preset limits are programmable for each counter register while two preset outputs are assignable per count register. Its non-volatile memory retains settings and count on power loss. The unit’s front panel includes a six-digit red LED numeric display and its numeric keypad allows direct preset as well as configuration entry.

The 797586-210 controller transmits ASCII count data up to 2400 baud and it includes front-panel programming with lockout security. Its function keys are individually labeled for operator clarity and its NEMA 4 sealed front is rated for industrial environments. The controller’s I/O terminals are screw type for secure wiring and its mounting requires standard rectangular panel cutout with clamp brackets. It meets UL/CSA requirements and it is designed for count-based control in automation systems.

Frequently Asked Questions about 797586-210:

Q: How does the programmable debounce feature improve the 797586-210’s counting accuracy?

A: The debounce filtering eliminates false counts caused by noisy or unstable input signals, ensuring reliable operation. This feature is crucial for maintaining precise counts in industrial environments with electrical interference.

Q: What is the advantage of having SPDT relay outputs in the 797586-210?

A: SPDT relays provide flexible switching options for various loads, enabling the controller to handle both normally open and normally closed circuits. This adaptability enhances integration into diverse automation setups.

Q: Why is quadrature decoding support important for the 797586-210 controller?

A: Its quadrature decoding allows the controller to interpret two-phase encoder signals for accurate direction and position tracking. This improves performance in applications requiring precise rotational or linear movement measurement.

Q: How does the scale factor feature benefit users of the 797586-210?

A: The scale factor allows unit conversion, enabling raw counts to be displayed in meaningful engineering units. This simplifies monitoring and control by directly correlating counts to physical parameters.

Q: How does the security lockout function protect the 797586-210’s settings?

A: The security lockout prevents unauthorized access to programming and presets, safeguarding critical parameters. This ensures stable operation without accidental or malicious changes in industrial environments.
