The 70Q2A601 is an on-delay timer produced by Danaher for the Timers and Controllers series. Once inserted into its octal socket, the unit waits for a preset period after coil energization before transferring its double-pole, double-throw contacts. This delayed transfer supports orderly startups, purge delays, and anti-short-cycle intervals in automated equipment. Its compact solid-state design maintains consistent timing behavior in compressor staging, conveyor sequencing, and heater control systems.
The timer operates from a control source of 120 VAC at 60 Hz and remains functional within an input range of +10% to -15%. Its two Form C contacts can switch resistive loads of 10 A at 250 VAC or 10 A at 28 VDC. An 8-pin octal plug-in base provides a removable connection without requiring changes to the field wiring. Three selectable timing ranges of 1 second, 10 seconds, and 100 seconds are available through the front controls. The final setpoint can be adjusted to within ±5% of full scale. In on-delay mode, timing begins as soon as the supply voltage is applied, and the contacts change state only after the selected interval has elapsed.
Cycle-to-cycle precision is maintained within ±0.5% or 50 ms, supporting synchronized processes that require minimal timing variation. After a timeout, the circuit requires at least 70 ms of reset time before a new timing sequence can begin. Internal isolation withstands 1500 Vrms, while the circuit tolerates transient events of up to 2500 V peak for 50 microseconds without a loss of performance. Electrical endurance reaches 100,000 operations under the applicable load conditions. The mechanical life reaches 10 million operations, supporting frequent switching in high-duty industrial equipment.
