Product Description:

The 0743436-008 Counter from Danaher features a durable, heavy duty body and a right side shaft for base mounted setups. It is flexible to track counts in both forward and reverse through direct or revolution drive modes.

The 0743436-008 counter is designed to be fastened onto a flat foundation or platform in order to be stable during operation. Its internal rotating parts are supported by bearings designed for extended service and smoother operation. It allows faster tallying as the register advances by ten units when the input shaft is turned once. It can be quickly prepared for a new count as the rotary knob can be rotated with minimal effort to return the display to its initial point. This module's housing ends are designed from a zinc aluminum alloy and its outer part is constructed from a cellulose acetate butyrate polymer. Its internal rotating mechanisms are composed of engineered plastics and powdered metal components. It is easy to transport or reposition as its total mass is roughly the same as a small handheld tool. Its single complete turn of the input shaft increases the reading by exactly one increment.

This 0743436-008 counter does not require an automated or electrical method for clearing the display but rather needs to physically turn a control. Its displays show five numbers with bright markings on a dark background and can count up to 99,999. In direct drive mode the allowable shaft rotation speed is up to 200 rpm while in the revolution drive model it is able to handle speeds up to 750 rpm. In this module, each digit is only a quarter of an inch tall and is less than three sixteenths of an inch wide.

Frequently Asked Questions about 0743436-008:

Q: How does the 0743436-008 Counter handle bidirectional counting without losing accuracy?

A: The mechanism uses a gear system that differentiates rotation direction, ensuring counts are correctly incremented or decremented. This prevents errors during frequent forward-reverse cycles.

Q: What effect does the direct drive’s 10-count-per-revolution ratio have on precision?

A: It allows faster accumulation of counts but reduces the smallest measurable increment. This is better for high-speed processes than for fine-resolution measurement.

Q: Can the 0743436-008 Counter be mounted in orientations other than base-down?

A: While designed for base mounting, alternate orientations are possible if the shaft alignment and reset knob clearance are preserved. Incorrect mounting can increase bearing wear.

Q: How does the manual reset knob impact downtime in continuous operations?

A: Its low-torque design enables rapid zeroing between measurement cycles. This keeps process interruptions short and operator fatigue minimal.

Q: Why is plated steel used for the drive shafts in this counter?

A: Plating resists corrosion while maintaining surface hardness for long-term wear resistance. This extends service life in dusty or humid environments.
