Product Description:
The R56-1DL is a resolver-based feedback wheel manufactured by Danaher within the Dynapar Resolvers series. Mounted at the end of a drive shaft, it supplies position data for servo loops, conveyor indexing, and similar automation tasks. The cast aluminum ring is 0.83 in thick and finished with chromate and powder coating for corrosion resistance, while the wheel uses an aluminum hub with a molded plastic perimeter to minimize inertia. The open-frame design eliminates internal bearings and couplings, reducing long-term maintenance requirements for the host machine.
Electrical interfacing is provided by a 7272 differential line driver, enabling balanced signals at frequencies up to 120 kHz while providing resistance to common-mode noise. The driver can sink or source 40 mA, supporting long cable runs and optically isolated inputs. The assembly tolerates rotational speeds of up to 5000 rpm, making it suitable for medium-speed motors. A precision wheel measuring 4.1 in in diameter sets the pitch of the resolver tracks and fits common encoder housings. To maintain the correct signal order, the phase relationship is arranged so channel A leads channel B during counterclockwise rotation. The ring surface carries radial marks that maintain interpolation accuracy even when a light film of oil is present.
Correct channel timing is maintained with a phase separation of 90° ±22° electrical, while duty-cycle symmetry is held to 180° ±54° electrical for consistent quadrature decoding. A single reference index appears once per revolution and has a width of 270° electrical, simplifying machine homing. Installation permits axial movement of ±0.045 in between the wheel and pickup, so normal bearing float will not disrupt accuracy. The shaft has a tolerance of +0.000/-0.001 in, helping the wheel maintain a secure and accurate fit. A minimum insertion depth of 0.800 in supports stable positioning on the shaft during continuous service. These installation limits allow the wheel and pickup to remain properly aligned as the host shaft rotates and experiences normal axial movement.
