Internal Product Review
The 21BRCX-500-HC7 is a Danaher Dynapar resolver with a steel housing and double servo groove mount. Excitation at 2 kHz and operation up to 25 kRPM support accurate feedback in demanding motion systems. The 7 arcmin pk-pk error makes the resolver a strong choice for precision servo applications.

Product Description:
The 21BRCX-500-HC7 resolver is manufactured by Danaher within the Dynapar Resolvers series. It is an electromagnetic rotary transducer that conveys shaft angle through two analog quadrature voltages, allowing servo amplifiers and motion controllers to calculate absolute position in demanding industrial automation systems. By using wound stator and rotor elements rather than optical components, the unit tolerates the oil, dust, and vibration commonly found in machine tools and material-handling equipment. Its electromagnetic design also allows reliable angle sensing where contaminants could interfere with optical feedback devices.
During operation, the resolver accepts an excitation carrier of 2 kHz at 4 Vrms and draws 34 mA. These parameters determine the burden placed on the drive’s reference oscillator. Transformer coupling between the rotor and stator provides a transformation ratio of 0.50, so the returned signal amplitudes are half the applied carrier amplitude. Electrical balance is reflected in the 152 Ω rotor impedance and 247 Ω stator impedance, which influence demodulator loading and noise immunity. At the electrical zero crossing, the unit exhibits 38 mV of null voltage. The sine and cosine vectors maintain a phase shift of 21 degrees, which must be accommodated by the signal conversion circuitry.
The resolver has a basic outside diameter of 2.1 in and a pilot diameter of 2.061 in, allowing the unit to remain centered in a motor end bell. The housing measures 1.25 in long and is fabricated from steel for magnetic shielding and structural durability. Shaft connection is provided through a double servo-groove mount, which supports precise concentric alignment without additional adapters. The rotor can track speeds up to 25 kRPM, permitting use on high-speed spindles. Positional accuracy across that speed range remains within a peak-to-peak error of 7 arcmin, supporting fine indexing in packaging and pick-and-place axes. The resolver weighs only 11 oz, which limits the additional mass placed on the servo assembly.
