Product Description:
The 15BRCX-401-A21H/10 is a resolver transducer manufactured by Danaher as part of the Dynapar Resolvers series. The device converts the mechanical shaft angle into sine and cosine voltage signals that servo drives interpret for speed and position control. With a multipole rotor and wound stator packaged in a compact frame, it supplies absolute angular feedback in industrial automation applications where optical encoders may be unsuitable. Its brushless construction eliminates wear-prone contacts and supports continuous operation inside motors, gearboxes, or rotary tables.
The resolver has a 1.5 in outside diameter that fits standard servo flanges, while the pilot registers on a 1.417 in land to maintain concentricity. The reference coil is energized with 10 Vrms and draws 58 mA when the drive supplies excitation at 4.5 kHz. This excitation produces the magnetic field from which the secondary windings generate position-dependent voltages. A transformation ratio of 0.50 means each output amplitude is one-half of the applied reference voltage, simplifying gain settings in many commercial motion controllers. The 0.635 in housing length allows the unit to fit inside motor end bells without increasing the overall motor stack length.
Signal accuracy is supported by a maximum error of 10 arc-min and a stator-to-secondary phase shift of +12 degrees, which affect the angular accuracy attainable by the downstream servo loop. The rotor’s electrical path has a resistance of 43 ohms, while the stator coils have a resistance of 172 ohms. These resistance values limit self-heating while remaining high enough to support noise immunity over long cable runs. An 8 mm hollow shaft extends through the full 0.635 in bore length, allowing the resolver to slide directly over a motor shaft or lead screw. The resolver weighs 3 oz, so it adds little mass to the drive train.
