Product Description:
The 10BRCX-401-B1A/20 is a rotary resolver produced by Danaher within the Dynapar Resolvers series. As a passive electromechanical transducer, the unit converts shaft position into complementary sine and cosine signals for closed-loop control of servo axes and robotic joints. Its steel housing protects the wound stator and rotor assembly. The single servo-groove mount aligns the resolver concentrically with the motor shaft so that angular feedback remains repeatable across the temperatures and vibration commonly found in factory automation equipment.
The resolver’s reference circuit is energized with 4 Vrms at 5 kHz, providing a stable carrier for demodulating the returned position voltages. The drive must supply an excitation current of 43 mA, so the internal resistance and impedance limit power dissipation while maintaining a high signal-to-noise ratio. A body length of 0.65 in allows the device to fit behind small-frame servo motors, and the welded steel shell minimizes magnetic leakage. Electrical balance is trimmed to 20 mV of null voltage. The +7° phase shift allows controllers to compensate for systematic lag between the primary and secondary windings.
The resolver interfaces mechanically through a 1.04 in pilot and a 6 mm rotor bore, centering the shaft and preventing radial runout. The copper windings have a rotor resistance of 31 Ω and a stator resistance of 83 Ω, which conditioning electronics can use when calculating temperature drift. The transformation ratio is 0.50, meaning the secondary amplitude equals one-half of the reference amplitude and provides a convenient scale for ±2 V processing circuits after demodulation. The open-circuit rotor impedance, Zro, is 73 + j115 Ω. The open-circuit stator impedance, Zso, is 185 + j305 Ω, providing the remaining value needed to model electrical loading during operation.
