Product Description:
The 608600-0050 connection cable is supplied by Danaher as part of the Dynapar Encoder Cables series. Designed for industrial automation, the assembly links a rotary encoder to a motion controller or PLC, carrying power and differential signals without adding active electronics. Its shielded wiring supports signal continuity between rotating sensing hardware and stationary control hardware. The cable is intended for incremental or absolute encoders that produce differential signals in machine-tool axes, conveyors, and other motion-control equipment. This arrangement provides a direct electrical path for encoder power and position data while reducing the need for separate wiring components inside the control cabinet.
One end of the assembly has an M12 D-coded male plug, a keyed industrial connector that locks against vibration and aligns the shield for high-speed differential channels. The opposite end has flying leads, allowing the conductors to connect directly to screw terminals or insulation-displacement connector blocks without additional adapters. Signal and supply paths are routed through four leads, each made from tinned, stranded copper wire sized at 24 AWG. This wire size provides flexibility while supporting the current requirements of typical encoder circuits. The PVC insulation permits continuous exposure to temperatures up to +80 °C, making the cable suitable for enclosed cabinets where limited airflow can raise the internal temperature. Tinned conductors also help maintain dependable electrical contact when the cable is terminated in industrial control equipment.
The jacket remains suitable for operation at temperatures as low as -40 °C, reducing the risk of embrittlement when equipment starts after prolonged exposure to cold conditions. This temperature capability supports installation in refrigerated warehouses and outdoor machinery. The M12 interface carries the electrical paths through four pins, providing direct continuity between the encoder and controller connections. Shielding helps protect the differential channels from electrical noise generated by nearby motors, drives, and switching devices. The cable also follows the shielding and conductor color conventions used within the Dynapar series, allowing each lead to be identified during control-cabinet wiring. Its connector-to-lead arrangement accommodates installations that require a secure encoder-side connection and direct termination at the control side.
