Product Description:
The 1400635-0020 is a dedicated signal cable manufactured by Danaher for the Dynapar Encoder Cables series. Intended for servo drives, CNC tables, and other precision axes, the assembly routes encoder feedback from the machine frame to the drive cabinet so that position, velocity, and diagnostic channels remain synchronized with controller commands. By preserving differential signal quality over moderate distances, it helps maintain noise immunity in electrically harsh environments and reduces the risk of corrupted feedback data during machine operation.
On the encoder end, the cable terminates in a female MS connector with a 10-pin insert. This configuration matches standard Dynapar optical and magnetic encoders that provide channel A, channel B, index, and complementary return signals. Inside the jacket, eight individually insulated conductors carry the differential signals and supply power, while dedicated twisted grouping helps limit crosstalk between channels. The assembly has a fixed length of 20 ft, providing sufficient reach for many machine-mounted encoders without requiring added junctions or extension cables. The fixed cable length also helps avoid unnecessary connection points that could introduce resistance, loosen under vibration, or expose feedback signals to additional electrical interference.
At the controller end, the sheath is stripped to expose flying leads, allowing each conductor to connect directly to compatible screw, spring, or insulation-displacement terminals. Signal integrity is reinforced by a shielded braid that drains electromagnetic interference to ground and helps protect low-level encoder signals near motors, contactors, and power wiring. The cable uses differential wiring, which pairs complementary signals so that the receiving circuit can reject noise common to both conductors. Its outer jacket is colored opal, allowing the cable to be identified more easily among mixed-voltage wiring and other machine harnesses. The unterminated controller end also accommodates different terminal arrangements without requiring a proprietary enclosure-side connector.
