Product Description:
The 1400635-0010 encoder interface cable is manufactured by Danaher and supplied under the Dynapar Encoder Cables series. It serves as a dedicated harness between a shaft encoder and the downstream controller in industrial automation systems. The cable preserves signal integrity and simplifies installation in applications where premolded connectors are preferred. This molded assembly can be routed through carrier tracks in motion control systems to carry power and balanced feedback signals between connected equipment.
The cable has an opal-colored outer jacket that allows quick visual identification in crowded cable trays. Its molded length of 10 ft provides sufficient reach for many machine-tool and conveyor axes without creating excessive slack. On the encoder side, the assembly terminates in a female MS connector containing a circular 10-pin insert that mates with compatible Dynapar sensor shells. Internal wire pairs are twisted and shielded to support the cable’s differential signal format, reducing common-mode noise when quadrature or serial signals pass through electrically noisy motor compartments. The cable contains 10 conductors for power, reference, feedback channels, and related connections while maintaining a compact overall diameter.
The controller end has flying leads, allowing the conductors to connect directly to screw terminals, crimp contacts, or solder pads without additional adapters. Eight signal cores are broken out for input and output connections, matching the encoder’s eight leads. The remaining conductors maintain the required shield and supply continuity throughout the assembly. A drain wire and overall braid connect the cable shield to the cabinet ground, helping limit electromagnetic coupling from adjacent power cables. The molded encoder connector provides a secure connection at the sensor, while the unterminated controller end supports several panel wiring arrangements. Twisted signal pairs and the surrounding shield help maintain balanced feedback transmission during repetitive motion in carrier-track applications.
