Product Description:
The 1400607-0010 encoder cable is manufactured by Danaher for the Dynapar Encoder Cables series. This preterminated assembly links rotary encoders to motion controllers in automated production cells, carrying incremental or absolute position data alongside power conductors. By combining factory-crimped contacts with molded backshells, the cable minimizes installation time and maintains the signal integrity required for closed-loop speed and positioning tasks on conveyors, pick-and-place axes, and packaging lines. Its mechanical and thermal design accommodates standard drag-chain routes and control-cabinet entry points, supporting predictable maintenance intervals in high-cycle environments.
The cable is supplied in a fixed length of 10 ft, allowing encoder relocation within small and midsize machines without excessive slack. At the sensor end, an MS female connector mates with Dynapar housings, and the circular insert has 6 pins for power, channel A, channel B, and auxiliary lines. The conductors are stranded for flexibility and use 22 AWG and 24 AWG wire sizes to balance voltage drop with bend endurance, while an industrial PVC jacket provides protection against oil and abrasion. The opposite end has flying leads, allowing direct connection to terminal blocks, solder cups, or removable screw connectors without adapter hardware.
Signal allocation uses a simple color code with four dedicated leads for unshielded channel transmission in areas with moderate electromagnetic noise. The conductor insulation withstands continuous temperatures up to 105 °C and remains pliable at temperatures as low as -20 °C, covering common conditions in enclosures and cable trays. The cable supports encoder outputs with single-ended, current-sink, or open-collector operation, allowing it to connect compatible sensing platforms without impedance mismatches. Proper routing away from high-current motor conductors helps preserve signal quality when the unshielded leads are used in industrial equipment.
