Product Description:
The 1400431-0020 cable is supplied by Danaher within the Dynapar Encoder Cables series. It is an interconnection lead set intended for linking rotary encoders to motion drives or PLC input cards in industrial automation systems. By providing preterminated contacts at the encoder end and stripped conductors at the control end, the assembly simplifies field wiring while preserving signal integrity between the sensing device and downstream electronics.
A total usable length of 20 ft supports installations where the encoder is mounted away from the cabinet but remains within typical machine dimensions. The circular bayonet interface on the encoder side uses 7 contacts, matching standard feedback pinouts for power, differential A and B channels, and index pulses. Those contacts are housed in a female MS connector shell, allowing straightforward attachment to common military-style plugs. From the connector, the harness carries 6 insulated conductors with an overall shield, providing separate paths for the differential channels and power connections. Each conductor consists of 22 AWG stranded copper, balancing low voltage drop with the flexibility needed for routing through cable carriers or conduit.
The controller end has flying leads, allowing each conductor to connect directly to screw terminals, spring terminals, or terminal blocks without adapter hardware. Logic signals are carried through a seven-pin line-driver arrangement that provides complementary signals for every channel. This arrangement supports longer cable runs and improves noise resistance by allowing the receiving electronics to reject common-mode interference. The encoder outputs use differential signaling, and the paired conductors are twisted inside the jacket to help maintain impedance and minimize crosstalk. The cable is electrically compatible with Dynapar incremental encoders used for rapid position feedback in conveyors, packaging machines, and controlled-axis systems.
