Product Description:
The 1400419-0020 encoder cable is produced by Danaher for the Dynapar Encoder Cables series. It provides the dedicated link between a position transducer and the drive or PLC, carrying balanced incremental or absolute channels so the controller can track motor shaft angle or linear carriage displacement. The assembly mates directly with the encoder housing and extends toward the cabinet without extra junctions, reducing reflection points and simplifying routing in automated conveyors, pick-and-place axes, and packaging lines.
This model uses a 10-pin circular interface, so every power, incremental, and reference line occupies its own contact within a keyed shell that prevents misalignment during service. The mating half on the sensor is an MS female connector, a military-style bayonet connector that resists vibration once locked. Inside the jacket are 24 AWG conductors, which support low-level differential pairs while keeping the cable flexible enough for drag-chain motion. The cable contains 9 wires, accommodating the A, B, and Z channels, their complementary signals, the power supply, and the shield drain without requiring shared grounds.
At the controller end, the sheath terminates in 8 leads that are tinned and left unterminated, providing the flexibility to land each core on screw terminals, IDC headers, or solder pads. This open-end configuration uses flying leads for direct connection to the selected control hardware. Encoder data travels through full differential signaling, so each channel has complementary polarity lines that cancel common-mode noise and support longer cable runs. The insulation and jacket materials tolerate continuous temperatures of up to +80 °C, maintaining dielectric strength beside servo motors or inside crowded control enclosures. This temperature tolerance supports sustained operation where heat from nearby equipment raises the ambient temperature around the cable.
