Product Description:
The 1400209-0010 cable assembly is an encoder feedback lead manufactured by Danaher for the Dynapar Encoder Cables series. In servo axes and positioning tables, it forms the electrical link between a rotary encoder mounted on the motor and the motion controller input. The cable carries incremental or commutation signals while resisting common plant-floor hazards. By combining a factory-installed connector with pre-stripped conductors, the product reduces wiring errors and shortens installation time in automated machinery.
Its physical durability starts with an armored steel-braid construction that shields the internal conductors from abrasion and crushing loads common in drag chains or conduit runs. The overall length is fixed at 10 ft, allowing the cable to be routed between motor junction boxes and control cabinets without excess slack that could reduce noise immunity. At the encoder end, a female MS connector provides a keyed circular interface with a 6-pin insert, ensuring positive latching and correct alignment with compatible Dynapar sensor heads. Inside the jacket, each tinned copper conductor is sized at 22 AWG. This conductor size balances voltage drop and flexibility while remaining compatible with common IDC or screw-clamp terminations on the drive side. The assembly contains six individually color-coded leads, providing conductors for power, reference, and complementary output channels at the mating device.
The control-cabinet side terminates in flying leads, allowing the wires to connect to terminal blocks, solder cups, or ribbon headers that match the installed hardware. Signal routing uses a single-ended configuration, so each channel shares a common return conductor. This arrangement simplifies grounding in systems that do not require differential signal pairs. Consistent conductor colors, drain-wire placement, and shield continuity make the cable suitable for compatible factory encoder connections. Its keyed connector helps prevent incorrect insertion, while the pre-stripped leads support direct connection within a control cabinet. The armored exterior also protects the signal conductors where the cable passes through exposed machine areas or enclosed conduit runs.
