Product Description:
The 114448-0010 encoder cable is produced by Danaher within the Dynapar Encoder Cables series. It is supplied as a complete harness for closed-loop axis control, connecting incremental or hybrid encoders to servo drives and PLC input modules. By maintaining consistent conductor twist and shielding, the cable carries power, quadrature channels, and a once-per-turn reference signal with minimal crosstalk. This design supports precise motion sequencing in packaging machines, conveyors, robotic assemblies, and other automated equipment that depends on reliable position feedback.
The assembly is categorized as an encoder cable, with balanced impedance and low capacitance for clean differential signaling. The encoder end has a lockable 10-pin connection contained in an MS bayonet female shell, providing tool-free mating and resistance to vibration. A factory-cut length of 10 ft simplifies routing in modest equipment bays while limiting unnecessary cable loops. Internally, stranded copper conductors follow a mixed wire arrangement of 22 AWG and 24 AWG. The heavier conductors supply sensor power, while the finer conductor pairs carry high-speed channel outputs and help maintain consistent propagation delay across the cable.
The controller-side termination is left open as an 8-lead set of color-coded conductors with flying-lead termination. This arrangement allows the individual conductors to connect to terminal blocks, D-sub backshells, spring clamps, or other compatible control interfaces. Each signal pair is shielded and twisted for use with a differential line driver, maintaining common-mode rejection over extended routing distances and preserving data integrity in electrically noisy areas. Separate conductors carry the encoder’s index outputs, allowing control systems to capture homing positions or registration marks without sharing signal paths with the primary quadrature channels. The shielding also helps reduce interference from nearby motor power cables, contactors, and variable-frequency drives when the cable is routed through industrial equipment.
