Product Description:
The 112859-0015 is an encoder extension cable manufactured by Danaher and supplied in the Dynapar Encoder Cables series. It provides a physical link between a motion-feedback sensor and the input stage of a drive or PLC, carrying incremental or absolute position signals in automated machinery. The cable matches the electrical format of the connected transducer and supports reliable signal transmission over typical machine-frame distances. Its preassembled encoder-side termination reduces the amount of wiring required during installation while providing a secure connection at the sensor.
The encoder end is fitted with an M12 A-coded connector, allowing the plug to be screwed directly into a compatible industrial sensor port without an additional adapter. Internally, the conductor set comprises 5 leads, allowing the required signal channels, reference supply, and common connections to be routed through one jacket. Signal transmission uses a single-ended topology, meaning each channel references a shared ground rather than using a complementary signal line. This arrangement simplifies the receiver circuit when the cable is installed in a suitably low-noise environment. Each conductor is sized at 22 AWG, balancing cable flexibility with enough copper area to limit voltage drop along the supply lead. The opposite end is supplied with open leads that can be connected to terminal strips, solder lugs, or crimp contacts according to the panel wiring arrangement.
The mating connector contains 5 pins that accommodate power, A-phase, B-phase, index, and ground connections. The correct pin assignment should be verified against the connected encoder and control input before the cable is energized. The jacket and insulation materials support continuous operation at temperatures up to +105 °C, allowing the cable to be routed near motors or brakes that produce elevated ambient heat. This temperature capability helps the insulation retain its dielectric strength and flexibility during prolonged operation. Appropriate separation from high-current motor conductors can further reduce electrical interference, while proper strain relief protects the connector and open-lead terminations from repeated mechanical stress.
