Product Description:
The 110158-0005 cable is an accessory supplied by Danaher as part of the Dynapar Encoder Cables series. Intended for incremental or absolute rotary encoders, it carries power and signal lines between a feedback device and a motion controller inside automated equipment. The assembly preserves signal integrity over typical machine lengths, allowing servo drives, PLC counter modules, or dedicated readouts to receive uncorrupted position data for reliable closed-loop calculations of speed, direction, and distance in packaging lines, material-handling cells, or process skids.
A side-mount shell positions the backshell against the encoder housing, reducing axial cable stress in confined spaces. The mating end uses a female MS bayonet coupling, allowing the plug to be locked with a quarter turn instead of requiring a threaded connector ring. Internally, the conductors are arranged for a parallel data scheme, enabling the simultaneous transmission of multiple-bit Gray or binary words. The bundle contains 18 individually insulated conductors, providing separate paths for power, complementary signals, and reference marks. The cable supports push-pull signaling, through which the connected driver can source or sink current for improved noise resistance over long runs.
A 19-pin layout follows standard Dynapar numbering, simplifying cross-referencing with terminal blocks and controller documentation. Instead of using a molded connector, the controller end is supplied with flying leads, allowing each core to be trimmed, tinned, or crimped for connection to proprietary I/O boards or screw terminals. Each conductor is made from stranded copper with a size of 24 AWG, balancing routing flexibility with electrical resistance suitable for typical encoder loop currents. The conductor arrangement maintains adequate dielectric spacing after field termination, while the separate insulated cores help prevent contact between power, signal, and complementary channels during installation and operation.
