Product Description:
The 109209-0010 cable assembly is supplied by Danaher within the Dynapar Encoder Cables series. It serves as a dedicated interconnect for incremental or absolute encoders, providing a preterminated link between the sensor housing and control cabinet wiring. By combining protective sealing with application-specific pinouts, the assembly carries encoder power, differential signal pairs, and index reference signals without requiring custom field modifications. Its compact jacket eases routing through tight machine conduits and crowded equipment spaces.
The assembly has a total length of 10 feet, which is suitable for short-run positioning stages where excess slack is undesirable. On the encoder side, it uses a female MS connector with a 10-pin insert, allowing phase and index outputs to share a keyed interface that resists loosening under vibration. Inside the jacket, the conductor set includes 9 individual leads and an overall drain wire; each conductor is color-coded to match standard Dynapar signal assignments and supports twisted-pair routing for noise immunity. For washdown or coolant-splash areas, the molded backshell and jacket meet the NEMA 4 watertight rating, preventing fluid ingress while preserving cable flexibility.
Classified as a cable assembly, the product uses 22 AWG stranded copper conductors that preserve signal-edge integrity when connected to encoders with differential line driver and index outputs. At the controller end, the jacket is stripped and the conductors are tinned to create flying leads, allowing direct connections to terminal blocks, screw cages, or solder lugs without intermediate adapters. The molded strain relief supports the cable at the connector transition and reduces conductor stress during routing or repeated machine movement. The overall drain wire provides a path for shield termination, helping protect low-voltage encoder signals from electromagnetic interference near motors, drives, and other industrial equipment.
