Product Description:
The 109209-0005 is a preterminated encoder cable assembly manufactured by Danaher and supplied under the Dynapar Encoder Cables series. In motion-control systems, this cable establishes the electrical pathway between a Dynapar rotary encoder and a downstream drive, PLC, or counter so incremental position information reaches the control loop without dropouts. By combining a sealed connector on the encoder side with open conductors on the panel side, the assembly simplifies installation in conveyors, packaging machines, and other automated equipment that rely on high-integrity feedback. This arrangement also permits direct field wiring at terminal blocks or control cabinets while retaining a secure connection at the encoder.
On the encoder end, an MS connector with a female interface has 10 gold-plated contacts that route power, A/B quadrature, and reference signals. Inside the polyurethane jacket, 9 color-coded leads carry the complementary signal pairs and ground while maintaining the electrical characteristics needed for differential transmission. These conductors connect to a drive that uses a differential line driver, allowing the cable to support routes where electromagnetic interference could disrupt single-ended wiring. A molded strain relief and screw coupling keep the mated connection watertight. Together with the polymer jacket, this construction meets the NEMA 4 enclosure requirement for washdown areas and outdoor junction boxes exposed to water, dirt, or airborne contaminants.
The opposite end terminates as stripped and tinned conductors with flying leads, allowing each core to connect directly to terminal blocks without special crimping tools. Dedicated shielding for the Z channel helps the controller receive clean index outputs for homing routines, even when switching equipment introduces electrical noise into the machine frame. The service temperature ranges from -20 °C to +105 °C, allowing the cable to remain usable in heated enclosures and withstand cold-start conditions in unheated industrial spaces. The tinned conductor ends also provide a prepared contact surface for secure attachment to screw terminals or other compatible panel connections.
